Casablanco Condo
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hiya!
I am very green! This will be my first trip to Puerto Rico
or any island for that matter. My friends suggest Culebra because I do not want to be somewhere flashy and trashy! I am looking to hang out and be chill, nothing fancy.

I found this condo called Casablanco Condo that looks very nice, clean and affordable - anyone know anything about it?

I am also looking into staying (with my fiance) at:
Palmetto Guest House
Vigias Guest House

We want a place with a kitchen, and somewhere NOT noisy,
but then we want to be able to bike or walk to most places.

Any help out there?

Lauren,
Would you like to stay near town or rent a beautiful home outside of town? If you have the capability to rent a beautiful home above a beach I would strongly suggest it. The condos that you have in mind are good choices, but having a entire house looking over the Caribbean, all to yourselves, is spectacular. I have no idea what they are going to charge you but there are many options. These homes are as out of the way as you can get. You will need a rental vehicle though. If you need more info e-mail me back.

Hi, Lauren. Here are some comments from our past guests:

"We had a great time in your place and will definitely recommend it to our family and friends” (December 03, 2004)

"We truly enjoyed our stay at Culebra last week. Your place was very
comfortable and provided all the conveniences. The kids also enjoyed the
Nintendo action during the evenings. Thank you for trusting us with your
personal hideaway!" (March 27, 2004)

"Terrific!" "We would definitely recommend Casablanca Condo to others, and will return again, I am sure. Thanks." March 11, 2004

If we can assist you in any way, please contact us at casablancacondo6@hotmail.com or call us at 609-338-8258

Lauren,
Casablanca Condo is in a great location - close to most everything yet off the main drag so it should be quiet. We did not stay there but it looks nice. We were up the hill next to the airport and we didn't particularly like our accomodations so I cannot recommend it. If I were to go back, I would probably stay at Villa Boheme or Fulladoza because of their location in town. Culebra is pretty quiet in general and noise shouldn't be a problem even in town. Except of course for the chickens! They drove us crazy every morning! Not much you can do about that. If you have any other questions, you can email us directly. We also have pictures of our trip posted at www.pbase.com/peterb - just scroll down til you see the Culebra gallery. Be sure to eat at La Bahia - which should be close to Casablanca. Also, Barbara Rosa's was good and cheap. Juanita Bananas was exceptional but more expensive (well worth it). And the tiger prawns at Coconuts Beach Bar on Flamenco were amazing! The best snorkeling we found was around the corner from Carlos Rosario. By the way, just ignore the stupid comments from Joel - this is forum for people to gather info about travel to Culebra from those who have been there. As any questions you want. I'm happy to answer.

Sharon,
Thank you so much for your helpful insites and your website with the photos is amazing, so well done and organized! I should figure out how to do that...
Anyway, I think I found us a really great place to stay from Culebra Island Realty, it's a house near/in Dewey and it's pretty awesome, I am going to call about it today. I have not even begun to research the resturants so your
message was particularly helpful in that respect. I am really looking foward to my trip, I live in Michigan and this is my first "island" trip in all my 29 years!
Thanks again!
Lauren
