Has anyone been to The hotel called Culebra Ocean View? Also in general is it better to stay in town ie. socialize with others and just make trips out to the beaches or is town a noisy, crowded, nightmare. I am thrilled with the idea of the quiet beaches but it might be fun to interact with others . I wouldn't like it if town was so noisy I couldn't sleep. Please send me your thoughts. Thanks!

Town may get noisy during SEMANA SANTA, Flamenco is noisy, and crazy too, do not camp there that week.
I'm sure there are other alternatives to Ocean View, and are close to "downtown", you may also check Villa Boheme, Casa Ensenada, Casa Linda, etc...
To socialize, one of the best places is Mamacitas, I heard there is a renovated local behind the fishermen's association, and others you will see on your way.
Quiet beach... go to Zoni, or Carlos Rosario.
Take a boat, and go to Culebrita.

Culebra Ocean View is pretty quiet and close enough to town to socialize.

One of their perks is that you get the cooking of Margarita 'Bahia Seafood' right next to you, since it is part of the place. Her mariscada is seriously good, and her prices are very reasonable.

We didn't stay at Ocean View but it looked nice enough and it was a street or two back from the "main drag" which would make it quieter. We ate dinner there - at La Bahia - and the meal was great and prices were very reasonable. Dewey is a great little town that closes up early. I wouldn't worry about noise, other than the roosters!
