Transport questions
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hey All,

Thanks for all the good advice on Culebra. I arrive on Wednesday and just can't wait to get there!

I am mostly set except for deciding on transportation back to the San Juan airport. I am trying to decide 1) Which ferry to take, and 2) Whether to take a cab from Fajardo to the airport or whether to rent a car.

First, my flight leaves from San Juan airport at 6:00pm. Is it reasonable to think I could take the 1:00pm ferry back to Fajardo, hop in a cab, and make this flight? Are their cabs readily available at the ferry port or should I reserve in advance?

Second, if I take the 6:30am ferry, I figured we might want to rent a car and drive to El Yunque rather than head straight to the airport for the day. Is L&M car rental the only option? Sounds like it is pretty easy to work with them for courtesy pickup and dropoff?

Thanks!
Terra

Terra,

If you take a taxi, call Zoraida Banks (info on this site). I would think you'd have plenty of time, but she'll know, for sure. Ask her if you have time to take the Loiza route - a worthwhile detour. El Yunque is cool, too.

if you have the whole day you could do both; rainforest and the scenic, northern route with Loíza and Piñones.

Enjoy Culebra!

Michael
