Museum or historical sites
Culebra, Puerto Rico

I will be visiting Culebra for the first time and don't necessarily like spending the whole day on the beach. Are there any museums or historical sites I can appreciate while enjoying the island?

If you like natural history, bring your binocs and check out the birds. For historical enrichment, I'd check out the cemetery at the bottom of the hill from the de-sal plant. There is quite an old lighthouse in mid-restoration (?) on Culebrita, and there is are a couple of old tanks on Flamenco Beach, artifacts from a time when Culebra was used as an naval gunnery range. I'm wracking my brain to think of whether I've heard about anything that officially qualifies as a museum...anyone else? Are there any historical or cultural exhibits in the Alcaldia?

Doug
