shared travel from san juan 12/15

My wife and I will be arriving in san juan on 12/15 around 4pm. I wanted to check and see if any others will be doing the same and going to culebra by ferry or plane. We could share taxi expenses to fajardo for the 7pm ferry. Or if we have 5-6 total, we could charter a flight. I would be glad to make the arrangements for either.

I just wanted to bump this up to see if anyone wanted to share taxi with my wife and I from SJU to Fajardo ferry next friday (12/15). We arrive at SJU at 4pm and plan on taking the 7pm ferry.

Pay attention folks! Nothing is more convenient than taking a charter!

I checked every charter/airline out of SJI and nothing worked since we are arriving after 4pm. We much prefer flying, but don't see it happening this time.

Doug/GinaYac - do you have any suggestions as to how we could find a flight when arriving this late in the day? If so, the information would be very useful. And not to mention - relevant to my original post.

I guess I don't see the point in the post either of you made....

arriving that late, without a charter, get in a cab and pray you'll make the ferry!

Enjoy Culebra!

Sorry - my statement was not as clear as I originally thought.

I was encouraging anyone with plans to travel to Ciulebra that day to give your offer serious consideration. If you have the right number of passengers to make it economically feasible, it is SO convenient, compared to messing with on-demand flights (can anyone tell me what that means?), taxi-cabbing to Isla Grande, the constantly changing lineup of airlines and their unpredictable schedules, etc. I came to Culebra with four buddies, and as soon as we collected our luggage, we zipped upstairs to the charter counter, where we were accompanied by our pilot past the security screen (VIP-ish) and out to the plane. We climbed in, he fired up the engines and we were wheels down in Culebra 25 minutes later. Total elapsed time from wheels down SJU to wheels down Culebra - 55 minutes. Plus they had a small cooler with complimentary Cokes and Heinekins waiting in the cabin! With that many folks, it was the same as the airline fare.

ah, i see...

Thanks for that explanation Doug. Now I see what you were getting at. That charter seemed like the perfect way to go. If we only had a few more people to join us.
I think Air Flamenco has a 4:45 that we may try to catch if our flight gets in a little earlier than 4pm.

I have a small guest house in Hato Rey with room for 7. a night cost you $25 each and my daughter takes to the airport and gets from the airport our guests for $10 each. To Fajardo she can take you for $20 each and drops you directly to the terminal of the ferries

Puerto Rico beautiful island, home of the hospitality and the shinning sun

MW,

I say it is truly worth taking a flight there. However I can't speak for the ferry but after reading multiple posts of delayed ships and such I find myself thanking god for having booked the flight from Vieques Air Link. You can call them ask if they will fly that late. I found them to be very accomodating and my husband and I were also treated like vips because we had the whole plane to ourselves and our pilot detoured to show us how beautiful puerto rico truly is.

I am not saying I wouldn't try the ferry because of the hassles, I would like to at least say I have done it once or twice but honestly I might be spoiled by the charter. I hope this helps I wasn't being rude by any means. And I can assure you I know how you feel because you want everything settled before you get there.

Good luck and have a good holiday and I wish I was in your situation and going back to culebra soon!

A very jealous Gina

MW,
You could probably catch a flight around 4-5pm in Isla Grnade if not SJU. Yoou wouldn't have to wait for 7pm.

I would call the airlines and see what they can suggest.
I hope it works out for you and please let us know how you made out.

Gina-still very jealous!
