Tip- Next time check the weather conditions before the trip. Everytime ther's a raining season the mosquitoes loves to meet new people.

Only time I had a problem with the mosquitos was in the room where we stayed! They chomped on ONLY me, no one else. :( I was never bit outside, not even when it rained.

Hi, I'm planning on going to Culebra the last week of February. This chat area on mosquitos has me slightly concerned. Any ideas how Feb. was in the past?

If you don't want mosquitos being a problem, don't go in the rainy season!!!!!

As far as I know...the rainy season starts sometime near the end of October and lasts until mid January....

Culebra is in the Tropics, and mosquitoes love tropical weather because it remains warm all year long. Just remember that they like dark, warm and humid places. Try to use light colored clothing. If you do not mind using insect repellent, "Off" has a non-scented one that you should use below the calfs, including ankles and on your neck.

I think that they are a nuisance, but the beauty and great time in an enchanted island overcomes any of it.

You will remember the sandy beaches, easy going environment and friendly people of Culebra, not the little, almost unnoticeable mosquitoes.

Saludos,
Ahmed

If your medical history allows it, try taking a B Vitamin daily supplement at least 1 month before your visit. It reduces the attractiveness of many people for insects, much the same as yeast supplements do for repelling fleas in dogs.
