Costa Bonita Resort closed- need help!

Hi, We are 2 families traveling to Culebra in early November. We booked 4 nights at Costa Bonita because of the great rates they were offering $115/night w/ 4th for free. Just got an email from them that they are "closed for an indeterminate period of time". THey also stated our credit card would not be charged- it was in full! I should have cancelled once I saw the bad press they got on this forum! We really want to continue with our plans to visit Culebra. We will be there 3 nights from 11/5-11/8/06. If anyone could recommend a place to stay for 4 adults and 4 kids (15,14,8, and 1) we would greatly appreciate any help!!!

Call Vacation Planners or get on their website to book online (www.allvacationreservations.com and input Culebra, Puerto Rico, then click link to "Vacation Planners Rental Properties". They have the largest selection of rental properties on the island, and they rent for periods less than 1 week.

If you are looking for a similar "resort" experience to Costa Bonita, your choices are Bahia Marina, Club Seabourne and Tamarindo Estates. I have never been to Tamarindo, but we ate dinner at Seabourne and stayed at Bahia Marina. I think Bahia Marina would be great with the kids (we plan on taking ours this spring).

Thanks for the suggestions, we reserved 2 rooms with Casa Robinson. Our credit card company credited us the amount charged by Costa Bonita (they have yet to do correct the problem). I contacted the "Key Develpoment Corp" who apparently owns the property (Phone : 609 652- 8858). I was told they had a meeting last week and decided to close the place down (supposedly for renovations) starting this week- apparently some people's reservations were broken with only a days notice, if any at all. They are no helping to secure other accommodations apart from offering a discount to some place they own in Aruba (not very helpful when every other aspect of my trip is already booked for PR). The guy was apologetic, but it doesn't change the fact that it was a pretty rotten thing to do to people.
