Just a quick note to everyone here on the board - I posted a couple of times asking for info ont ravel and it was very helpful.

We honeymooned in Culebra after our wedding in Miami. We had the best honeymoon!! Got there via Air Flamenco - loved that ride!; stayed in Culebra for three nights at Club Seabourne; rented a jeep from Carlos Jeeps; ate at Mamacita's, Dinghy Dock, and Barbara Rosa; explored many many beaches; went to Culebrita... We had an amazing time!! My only complaint is that when we ate at Dinghy Dock, the music was on a loop so we heard the same song over and over again about 20 times. It drove us crazy. Other than that, everything else was perfect.

We loved the isolation and the wonderful beaches. At Tamarindo were the only ones on the beach for a looooong time. Carlos Rosario and Flamenco, are just amazing. Zoni was great - we took a nap there and there were probably only two other people there.

All in all, it was perfect for a honeymoon. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, unique, and private place. We went to Vieques for two nights after our stay at Culebra. We loved Vieques, too, but there were definitely different feels to the islands, so it's hard to compare the two. I know we went at a great time of the year and it was during the week, so there were less people which is exactly what we were looking for. We look forward to going back to these special islands :-)

Congrats on your wedding! Wishing you many happy years. =)
Glad you enjoyed Culebra. How did you like Club Seabourne? Would be interested in feedback on that.

Did you hike to Carlos Rosario from Flamenco, or take a boat there?

Cheers!
Kris

Ho Kris,

We actually loved Club Seabourne. It's definitely not a luxury resort, but we were one of three rooms staying there, so it wasn't crowded at all. The bar and restaurant were closed when we were there, except for Monday night - which I was told was an exception. They had some big group dinner planned that night.

We stayed in a villa and it was actually very nice, clean, and spacious. The balcony was cute and we had a view of the bay. The staff was very nice and helpful, but the last night we were there, there was no one at the front desk. Not a problem for us, but I can see how this would annoy people.

We paid $175/night, and I would definitely recommend it. Wouldn't pay much more than that, though...

We went to Carlos Rosario from Flamenco - did the hike up and down the hill. While I think Carlos Rosario is beautiful, Tamarindo Beach which is to the left as you approach Carlos Rosario, is equally breathtaking - and there was no one there! The only thing I didn't like about Carlos Rosario is in a span of two hours, there were two boats with about 20-30 people on them anchored right off shore - which I thought spoiled our view. One in particular had really loud, annoying music, but I have to commend them for cleaning up after themselves: two paper plates went flying out the boat and into the water, and someone jumped in and retrieved them...

Sounds like you had a good time in Culebra, too. Have a good weekend!
