Any More Info on Mamacitas?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

My wife an I will be visiting Culebra in mid May and we are gathering as much information as we can about the island and places to stay. We were wondering if more information was available concerning Mamacitas and about Jeep rentals (i.e. do the Jeep rentals take credit cards or cash or both?)

All of the car rentals accept credit cards, Mamacitas is a very nice place, to eat, and relax after a sunny day.
There may be some sounds for music, or some type of live music they sometimes have on the weekends.
There is an ATM machine at Banco Popular, in the corner after the ferry dock.

Jerry's Jeeps takes credit cards, but prefers cash or check.

Happy Diving!

We used Carlos Jeeps.....49 a day for a close to new jeep. Everything was very professional. Mamacitas was our favorite place to eat.....and the bathrooms even had toilet paper but no mints.

I just wanted to mention that Mamacitas had great breakfasts and great coffee too.
Say hi to Monica, she must sleep behind the bar because she was there when they closed at 11 on friday and saturday night, and then right back in there at 8am on saturday and sunday mornings.

I'm glad to hear that Mamacita's is again serving breakfast. Is that daily or only weekends?

We ate breakfast a Mamacita's almost every day (weekdays too) almost to the point of boredom. This was after being underwhelmed by breakfast at the Dinghy Dock our first morning. We couldn't find any other places that served breakfast.

We were very pleasantly surprised by Mamacita's innovative Sunday Brunch menu as well.

Peter,

Funny how quality varies, from visit to visit. Another favorite of mine was the jamon y huevos y queso sandwich at the PanaderĂa next to the airport. Being the early riser, I used to head over there and get these for the group's breakfast, along with Cuban sandwiches for lunch at the beach. Of course, it allowed one to stock up on cold Presidentes at the Happy Landing as well. ;-)

My girfriend and I recently stayed at Mamacitas in February. Thought it was excellent. The outdoor bar/restaurant had great atmosphere as well as very good food for breakfast and dinner. Was just great to be able to eat a nice meal outdoors in February. (we are from Boston). Was a short walk from the ferry dock, shops and local grocery store.

No matter where you go on the island make sure if you're going to be sitting still that you bring some bug spray =)
