Wine Selection
Culebra, Puerto Rico
Date:   04-05-05 12:31

We are coming to Culebra in about 3 weeks. This will be our first time and we can't wait. We've been reading so many great things about the island.
A couple of us in our group are wine drinkers and we're wondering if anyone might know if we can buy wine on Culebra or if we should get it in Puerto Rico. We've read that there are a few restaurants that are BYOB.

Thanks to everyone for being helpful in this forum.

You can buy wine in Culebra as they have a grocery store & liquor store however if you can bring it from San Juan - maybe better as you will get a better selection & probably better price...and yes there are places for BYOB. Splurge... bring a bottle & buy one in Culebra !! :)

Have fun & ENJOY! It truly is wonderful!

El Eden, the Cafe/Deli/Bar/Liquor store had quite a selection of wine, liquor, and beer. We went there for the first time a few weeks ago, and we were impressed. We are not wine drinkers, but to us it seemed that there were many different wines. Also, the sandwiches that we had there were great.

Jeff Duocette:

I agree with Jery. I`m a wine drinker too.. I think is a good idea to buy it in Puerto Rico because you get more alternatives. If you are trying to get a good selection dont take the risk, buy some in P.R. and try some from Culebra so on that way you wont be disappointed.... Good luck!

As wine drinkers, we were very impressed with the selection at El Eden, the new cafe/liquor store/bar, which is located across the drawbridge, near Comada Milka. You will not be disappointed - they have a great selection from California, Australia, Latin America, etc. We also found the prices to be quite reasonable.

Happy Diving!
