Feb 7or 8 sharing a boat charter to Cayo Santiago

The boat leaves for cayo Santiago from Playa Naguabo, about 30 min. south of Fajardo for a 2-3 hour trip. The captain likes to have about 6 people and then it's only $25 pp. The options are snorkelling and fishing. There's two of us so maybe we can find another couple or 2, we can share the trip on either February 7 or 8th, 2005 in the AM My email's lilipadk@hotmail.com.
Let me know :)

Be very careful, 25.00 PP in not trustable, I would get other options tough they might be more expensive.
Many accidents have happened that way.
Is the captain USCG certified, does he has P.R. Public Service Commision permit, does he has all the insurance required, does he knows CPR/First Aid, does he has FCC marine radio operator permit, DOES HE SPEAKS ENGLISH ?

I would not trust anyone who would charge a cheap price of 25.00pp.
What type of boat he has, does the boat has all the security equipment ?

Shuch as First Aid Kit, Type I personal flotation device, VHF marine radio, Long Distance Signaling, Fire Extinguisers, FRESH WATER...
Are you familiar with security concerns...
I do not think so. Pay more, be secure... I do not have a BOAT, I cannot take you, and I will not recommend anyone. You can find my resume at LUXYYATCHS.COM ENJOY ...

Hi,
It's ok, it's only that cheap when there's 6 people. The 1/2 day charter (2-3 hrs) comes to $150, which for a small fishing boat is a reasonable price, no?

The term reasonable is very wide, and it depends on the place, the city, the country, etc.
In P.R. 150.00 for 6 persons, 3 hours, with a " captain ", and maybe some skorkeling gear or fishing gear, sounds little strange.
However, as it all depends on cost, you may find answer by talking to the guy.
What in the lenght of the boat ?
What security devices does he has, and has he check them lately ?
What motor does the boat has, the bigger the motor the more fuel it consumes.
Ask for the flares, check the expiration date on them.
Ask for sound producing device.
Take a reasonable amount of fresh water, if the boat does not has enough to your satisfaction.
Always tell someone ( in P.R. ) where you are going, and when you expect to be back.

I owned a 24 foot 2001 fiberglass boat, with a 225hp Mercury, that consumes a lot of gas. For example 6 people, for 3 hours, not less than 250.00, maybe 300.00.
The area you about to cover is close to shore, and is quite visited by fishermen, tourists, and some government representatives.
But it is up to you, think SAFETY FIRST, and talk, find info, and you will enjoy...
Glad if I was of any help.
Sincerely yours,
