Any update on campground?
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Planning to camp in mid-July. Last I've seen, the campground is technically closed, but camping is still allowed. Showers and bathrooms were not operational.

Any update?

I just saw that the community painted and fixed the bathrooms and showers on Culebera Noticias page on Facebook.

Stay warm!

I just returned from the island last week. I was not camping. I was at Flamenco everyday though. I saw the showers were working and the restroom by showers was working. Workers repainted and added new outdoor sinks to the small bathroom near the main boardwalk to Flamenco. There were normally at least 5 kiosks open everyday.

Thanks, Derek.

And just to confirm, even though you weren't camping, you did see others camping? I'm about to buy my plane tickets from San Juan to Culebra, but looking for more confirmation that camping is allowed. I've tried calling the campground many times, but never get an answer.

Yes, I saw tents just behind the bathhouse and showers. I also saw several people walking from the general camping area to the bathrooms/kiosks. I did not, however, walk into the camp ground area or confirm with anyone camp grounds were open. Sorry.

Derek
