Freediving
Culebra, Puerto Rico

Hello,

My friend and I will be heading over to Culebra next week and are planning on doing some freediving.

We were wondering where the best locations are that have some reefs offshore about 10-20 meters down.

We read that Carlos Rosario has some pretty deep reefs about a kilometer out. Is this true?

We also read that there is a wall dive out past Carlos Rosario, but we haven't found any info on the location.

We will be camping at Flamenco for about 3 weeks, so the more potential freediving locations the better :)

Thank you!

I believe there is a long wall along Playa Larga. It appears that way from up on the hill but I have not been out to it. To get there go to Zoni beach and go East around the point. Larga runs for about a mile.

I recommend the Luis Peña Channel - walk to Carlos Rosario, get in the water and make your way East. The current can be quite strong.

Enjoy Culebra!

Michael
