camping during Christmas

We are considering camping on Flamenco Dec 15-26 2012. What is it like that time of year? I've heard it's really crowded and loud at Christmas- lots of partying- is this true? I will be there with my kids and I'm trying to decide if we should go or not. We're not really the partying type- can you get away from it in section E? Should I make reservations ahead of time? Is the ISland really busy? Thank you for any information.

I have had my family on Flaminco for Christmas week 2 times in the past 5 years. the 'Christmas Winds' can be intense. The beach was practically unswimmable on some days and was actually 'red flagged' and closed on one day too.

Thanks for the info. We intend on doing lots of snorkeling with our kids ages 15 and 8, so this is good to know! I was under the impression that the weather is always mild in Culebra?
Have others had this experience?

Since the better snorkeling has always been better on the south side of the island ie Carlos Rosario, Tamarindo and Melones the "Christmas Winds'/surf
shouldn't put that much of a "kink" in your vacation.

The temp is mild but the tradewinds blow in the winter. 10 - 15 knts out of the NE. So as stated above you'll be OK on the South sides.
