Lacrosse sticks?

We are arriving in Culebra tomorrow and my young boy and girl really want to bring their lacrosse sticks to practice amidst the beauty of the island, but they are not allowed in carry on and we don't want to check anything. Does anyone know if you can rent or borrow lacrosse sticks on the island? Crazy request, but if a family had a stick and wanted to lend it to us for a week we could reciprocate with...something! :) No harm in asking I figure.

Drew- did you get an answer to this question? We are bringing two 14 year olds and my son is so excited to do some beach lax he can't stand it! he wants to bring two sticks, and I don't want to check anything...

You might be able to mail them to yourself, general delivery at the post office.

I do that with my snorkle gear and books.

AHHHH... great idea!!! We are so used to traveling to the BVI, where mail may NEVER get there (and cost a fortune!) that I had forgotten about this option! Thank you.

Have you been to Culebra before? I am trying to narrow down housing, but having never been there, I am confused as to what might be a good spot. Where are you staying? Any thoughts would be helpful.

Perhaps when you know where you are staying you can mail to there c/o your name. We've had guests to that before.

(ps. when we lived in the BVIs we had a St. John POB for that reason!)

Hard to recommend a spot without knowing what you look for in a place. Cost, privacy, activities, kitchen access all are factors.

We are two adults and two 14 year olds- who all want to CHILL. No major activites, zip lines, etc- which is why Culebra peaked my interest in the first place. I'd like to have kitchen access so we don't have to eat out for every meal. A/c is a must. Would like some privacy- but not way out where we don't see anyone. Budget is as low as we can get and still enjoy ourselves!

We have enjoyed Casa Culebra, available through Culebra Vacation Planners. The website for the house is casaculebra.com. Top floor is three bedrooms, lower floor is two. It's out of town on the way to Punta Soldado, but within easy walking or biking distance of town. We walked into town for dinner a couple of times, also biked in most days. There's a parking spot for a car, full kitchen, beautiful views, big deck for relaxing, and the top floor at least had a gas grill for cooking out. May be one for the two-bedroom unit also. Can't remember if there is air conditioning in the bedrooms or not -- think there was, but the breezes coming off the water kept it comfortable enough and we never felt we needed AC in March/April.
