Do we need a 4x4 jeep?

We will be visiting Culebra in March and look forward to a lot of interesting snorkeling trips. I was wondering if renting a sedan is sufficient for getting to the best beaches? I understand Brava might be out of reach, but what about the rest of the island? Do we really need a 4x4 to get to the best snorkeling spots?

Good afternoon,
You don't need a 4wd to get around. We live here & don't have 4wd on our vehicle & have been to all snorkel locations. Re: Brava, you can't drive there anyhow-you only can drive to the end of the road & then must walk. Also, Brava is on the wrong side of the island for snorkeling & is normally rough.

I don't know that sedans are an option. The choices are generally small jeep-like vehicles, small SUVs, Jeeps and mini-vans.

We booked a 2010 Kia Rio from Thrifty with air conditioning, etc. for $40 a day. It's a newer car so I hope it will be ok.
