Snorkeling equipment
Culebra, Puerto Rico
Author: Sara Stephenson (---.client.mchsi.com)

Hello, friends,

My fiance and I are visiting Culebra for our honeymoon. We're interested in snorkeling (in an unofficial, un-chartered way). Is there any where to rent snorkeling gear on the island? We'll be flying in, and I don't want to deal with the extra weight in our luggage.

Many thanks,

Sara

seemed to run 'bout $18 or 20 a day IIRC.

The Palmetto offers free snorkel gear for our guests.

If you are renting a car from Jerry, I think he includes snorkel gear. As the Palmetto does, a lot of the guest houses have snorkel gear available. It can be rented at the dive shop at the ferry dock as well.

Happy Diving!

Jerry's was cheaper than the dive shop once, but maybe I was still sketchy about the whole idea of snorkels to appreciate it (on board now!) so to speak.

I don't mind renting fins, but I gotta have my own mask and tube with me, mostly because I have prescription lenses for nearsightedness. The whole point is to enjoy the underwater eyegasm and I like my high tech tube, 'cuz it's so easy to clear it after a surface dive.

I was between contacts once (profoundly nearsighted) and found I didn't need the adhesive (to the mask) correctors at all.

on land, well that was a different story.

when you add it up, the rental does come very close to purchase if you will use again. one's mask does have to fit right.
