30th Anniv Trip
Culebra, Puerto Rico

My husband & I are celebrating our 30th Anniv this year & are seriously considering a trip to Calebra. I have a couple questions which I have not found answers to on any of the Calebra sites. Can someone please tell me when your "peak" and "off-peak" times are. We are also wondering what monetary method is used on Calebra? US dollars? Peso's? We are beach bums at heart looking for snorkling, swimming, beachcombing, a few decent restr's and major de-stressing. We are not big on huge crowds or major nite life (been there/done that) Can anyone rec. some times to come without huge crowds. I might add that we live in a state where -20 is not uncommon in Jan/Feb. Tho any months other than June/July/Aug (our summer) is appealing. Thanks so much. Kind regards, Linda

Peak Season 1: From about November thru May (U.S. and Europe Tourists)
Peak Season 2: From end of May thru beginning of August (Local Tourists, from main island Puerto Rico), but rates are lower than Peak 1.
Low Season: End of August thru November, lowest rates

Currency: U.S. Dollars (Culebra is a U.S. territory)

Large crowds: Spring Break (Holy Week), and during U.S. & P.R. Holidays.

Keep in mind that "Large Crowds" on Culebra mean 25 people on mile-long, Zoni beach instead of 4-10. Where holidays make a difference, is on Flamenco beach and for rooms and rental cars; book early. Restaurant facilities can be taxed during this time, also; dine early.

Happy 30th!
Cheers,

Doug
