Hola! Have some of you read this document? It refers to commercial fishing or for business purposes . We have gone fishing many times in PR , at the beach, from a pier, from a bridge, from a dingy and you don't need a license like you do in the US in order to throw a bait and hook into the water. Even if you charter a boat or go with a formal fishing outfit you still don't need a license. I can just picture some of you guys going into the sports department at the local Walmart in PR and asking to purchase a fishing license, LOL!!!! Better yet, trying to track down someone from the PR Department of Natural Resources to ask this question. It is important however, to find out the size of some fish or crustaceans allowed to keep as you can get fined for catch of prohibited size or type. Also, there is something called "La Veda" which means you can't fish certain crustaceans during certain months of the year, for example conch and crabs can not be fished during the months of June, July and August.
