Two other places that operate in a similar fashion as Culebra Deli (which I've never tried) are El Patio Panaderia across from Happy Landings next to the airport, and Pandeli Panaderia across from the Methodist church in town. Both do the pan criollo style sandwiches. On beach days, I order a huevo queso y jamon y el cubano (ham egg and cheese and Cuban) sandwiches. I'm good to go all day until dinner. Sandwiches are about $4 each, and there is something very special about that sandwich press that transforms good french style bread into gourmet magic.
