Great site with good info!
We are planning a trip to Culebra in March and are thinking of staying at the campground on Flamenco Beach. What is all supplied with that? Does the tent have a floor (or is it a sand floor?)? Cots or blankets or pillows? I see people recommending that we take food to the beach with us, but does someone in town rent coolers, and sell ice then? Overall does anyone have detailed info on camping there, recommendations, warnings, etc? Thanks!

The phone # for the campground is 787-742-0700. I think you have to provide everything yourself but I'm sure that they'll be a good source of info.

They didnt have any showers two years ago. If you dont mind camping this is one good spot. Good beaches on both side of hill and the staff of guards are pretty nice.

Flamenco Beach Campground has open showers (by the basketball court), toilets, and water cisterns around the site.

We are planning a trip in March. We have never been to PR much less Culebra. We are travelling with a 4 and 6 year old and are planning on camping on flamenco beach. Are there established shelters or should we bring our tent? Is weather warm enough for just sheets and leave the sleeping bags at home? Is it easy enough to get around without a car or would having one simplify enough to outway cost? Is there really no reservation needed? We are super excited and any info will be so helpful! Thanks!

You will need a tent to camp. The water will be warm. The beach is 60 yrds at the most from any campsite.I really enjoyed the place and the guy in charge is really nice and helpful. I think his name was george. They diddnt have showers two years ago when i went but they do now. I suggest hiking over the hill to the beaches opposit of the campground. On one side is a really nice protected beach with no break for the most part.Watch the sun on your kids. It can be get pretty ugly if u do not protect them.
