Me and my wife recently stayed at Villa flamenco beach,it was the perfect location for a peace and quiet honeymoon. We explored the whole island and its hotels/villas and we are so glad we stayed here. The manager John was so friendly and helpfull.if your looking for a quiet relaxing vacation this is the place.we rented a jeep 4 x 4 and explored the back dirt roads, we found ourselves on the top of a hill overlooking flemenco beach on a helicopter pad at night watching the stars drinking champagne.
the best beach for snorkling is only reached by boat or on foot.As you park at the Flemenco beach national park walk west over the hill.it takes about 15 mins - 20 mins walk, wear tennis shoes and bug spray its well worth the walk.i saw a nurse shark there and plenty of profiled reef very colorfull.
as for food,Mamacitas and dinghy dock are good if you like American style food but if you like the local food you must ask the locals where to go.
food is expensive and if you have a kitchen in your apartment make sure you bring food over from Fajado.we caught a cab from San Juan airport to fajado ($80),ferry over to Culebra ($2.25),on the way back we flew with air flemenco to Fajado ($27) they do charge you $0.45 per pound over 25 pound of your bags.then we hired a car from Thrifty in Puerta Rico.you may want to hire a jeep with thrifty in Culebra, they have brand new jeeps, dont rent anything else, the roads are rough and bumpy and if you want to go off the beaten track you will need 4 weel drive.rum is cheep in Culebra too.
if you need to ask me anything please email me. oceanpro4@hotmail.com be glad to help.
