Frank, I wanted to clarify my previous statements regarding the ferry from Fajardo to Culebra. The busiest time of season to get from Fajardo to Culebra is the month of July because of all the holidays in Puerto Rico in July. My wife and I had 2 very bad experiences on this ferry on back to back years (2002, 2003). On both occasions we had tickets for the 2:00 pm ferry from Fajardo and the ferry did not show up until 7:30 pm & 8:00 pm respectively. So you can see the ferry has not been an enjoyable experience for us. There is nothing worse than sitting in that terminal or waiting outside in the heat for one of these ferries to show up for six hours. I understand that riding the ferry is an experience for tourists and a more economical option to get to Culebra. As for me, I have been to Culebra every year since 2004 via airplane from Fajardo and have never had an issue. Everyone is free to select their own mode of transportation to Culebra but I wanted the originator of this inquiry to know that the ferry can be problematic.
