To say that you must walk "from one side of the island to the beach" is a bit of an overstatement. It is maybe a ten minute walk on fairly level ground. You will need shoes to guard against "prickers".

It would probably take the water taxi longer to drive you around to the beach than it would for you to walk from the "near side" of Culebrita.
