Hello everyone!

I will be in Culebra for a few days mid-March. Is there any way I can see turtles then? Any activities you could suggest?

Thanks a lot!

Alice

While snorkeling or kayaking you have the opportunity to run into turtles. There is no "turtle lounge" where they just hang out unlike the iguanas at Mamacitas. Also at Zoni, they hang out eating just about 50' off shore. Watch for them coming up for air.

Enjoy!

We snorkled with turtles at Tamarindo. It was an amazing experience. Enter the beach where the picnic table is. Enter the water and start snorkeling to your left. Go out into about 10-15 ft of water and continue to swim to the left. You will see them grazing on the turtle grass there. I got some amazing pictures of them.

We swam with a dozen or more different green sea turtle at Tamarindo. Definitely try Geronimo' suggestion of watching the water's surface. You can see their heads just break the surface when the come up for air. You can do the same when you are in the water as well as you approach them. I had one little turtle, shell not much more than a foot, follow me around. He/she seemed very curious.
