Hi There
I was wondering if it is safe for 2 females to camp at the flamingo beach campground in Culebra. I plan to visit JAn 18-JAn 24 this year
I heard the mosquitos are there now but are they intollerable?
Do you have showers at the campground? How about fire wood or can you have fires?
Do you also have the no-see-ems or what ever you call those nasty invisable bugs that bite?
Maybe I should stay insidea room?
I also want to try to get to Viques to see the phosphorecent bay at the full moon how can I get there from Culebra or do I have to go from San Juan ?
Love the info I have gotten so far from this forum
Thank you for managing it
Susan

Susan, I can't help you with any of your questions, but maybe you can help me. If you would write me a quick note when you get back and tell me how the camping was. I am going in February and am interested in the same questions. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

There is a shower in the Camp grounds but sometimes they dont have water and its outdoors (so you have to take a shower with clothes on) You cant make fire on the campground...you have to bring a "grill" and its 20$ a head to camp. There are mosquitos but, just buy OFF bug repelent. MAYBE that will work or just king cobra or something like that...

I hope I helped alot..

Jay

I had read that camping is $10 to $20. But your email clearly says $20 a head. Is the the bottom line price? What is the $10 figure all about?

S. Fisher-

Please email about your camping experiance on islaculebra. I'm going there for first visit in June. Would like to know about snorkeling and rentals of sea kayaks? Good to see other Ann Arborites on the web.

It's better to see the bay when there is NO moon. To get the full effect it should be dark.
