I visited the islands of Solentiname in Nicaragua, even the name is romantic and exotic. Father Ernesto Cardenal an activist against the dictatorship of Somosa as part of his revolutionary pacifist act he organized the population and they started a self sustained project of naive art that has become internationally known. you can google it. The only hotel is a rustic house with different cottages clean rooms and the breeze coming from the lake. The Solentiname islands surrounds the Lake Nicaragua. For couple of bucks young guys take you to explore the other islands that are super interesting including caves. Also the art of the population there is what you see in front of you every day is a homage to nature. It is a show to see a sunset with the white cranes flying to the trees, just like one of the many paints in Solentiname. The people are very honest and good natured. The food wonderful, simple and tasty and the catch of the day sweet water fishes.

Another islands are the atolls and the islands of Micronesia, I lived in Ponape and their atolls like Kapingamarangui, Ngatik, Nukuoro, Pingelap, they are like scenes of a sOUTH Pacific Islands and not commercial at all.

Puerto Rico beautiful island, home of the hospitality and the shinning sun
