Went to Isla in April for the first time- it was more crowded than I had been led to believe but it was Easter week- a mistake I realized later. It was a nice time- inexpensive beachfront accommodations, good and very reasonable to cheap food and drinks, pretty beaches but too small, too crowded (mostly Mexicans on vacation rather than tourists from US) and very limited snorkeling on overused and damaged reefs. I am not sure I would return.
