My husband and I will be in Culebra for a week in mid-April. We are staying at a guesthouse in a residential neighborhood several miles from town. Our intent is mainly to snorkel, kayak, fish and relax. We plan to get groceries in town, cook a lot of our meals where we're staying and enjoy our deck relaxing with a beer or cocktails in the evening. We're not really interested in spending alot of time in town but would rather explore as many nooks and crannies of the island as possible during our stay. Lunch and snorkeling gear are all we would carry with us most days.
Would we be better off renting a jeep for the week or a scooter or two. I've heard that there are some remote beaches that may be accessible by scooter, but can't be reached by jeep. We don't mind walking/hiking at all and getting as far off the beaten path as we can with a scooter and then exploring on foot seems appealing. I'd like to have some comparisons regarding cost and mobility before I make my decision and reserve something. Thanks in advance for any help.
