Brian,
You are in for a treat. Everyone on the island (except for that one grouch) gathers on the commons adjacent to the ferry dock. Folks bring buffets and lawn chairs and dress up in finery or masquerade - but mostly they dance. I only get to come for every other NYE (next year), but the three I've been to each had two bands playin' that infectious synchopated Latina musica that won't let you sit still. Fireworks to finish, and oh am I jealous of you!
