Bringing a car to Culebra

Has anyone had any experience bringing a car to Culebra? We will have a rental car for our time on the mainland and are planning to try to bring it with us to Vieques and Culebra. It has not yet proven very easy to get the reservation with the cargo ferry. I have read reports of losing your place on the cargo ferry even if you do have a reservation.

Anyone have any personal experiences with this?
