Hi Susan,

I am the one that said no flip flops I think had I had Tevas I would of been better off. My husband was fine in Aqua socks although he had a decent size sole on them. Mamacitas is awesome I can't speak for the other restaurants but Mamacitas was great. We didn't need reservations and our food came up rather fast. Please know though that the hike to Carlos at least for us was very tiring, we were so beat the next day. However, so worth it, there is nothing like being near the middle of the path and looking up and seeing through the bushes that beautiful view of the ocean with the mountains in the back. A local had told us that the hike is 20-25 but we somehow even with my cut up toe did it in 15 not that we were racing but we made pretty good time I suppose. It is really easy to find, if you are standing in front of the food stands you will want to cross through the parking lot and walk in an almost perfectly diagonal line and you will see the big green sign indicating it is for Carlos Rosario and you have to squeeze through the locked fence. It was fun I felt like I was 8 again.

Hope this helps.

Gina
