I agree. We stayed there and after the first night we realized we needed a car to survive. When we arrived at the ferry station, a van going to Flamenco dropped us off at the tamarindo entrance, there is a steep hill there, but I managed to carry both of our luggage and we made it to the hotel after a 10 minute walk. Yeah, not very convenient and quite expensive, but it's the beach, so we expected that.
