Problems catching ferry in April?

Hi all,

I will be visiting eastern PR from April 1-8. I was planning to go to Culebra on the 5th from Fajardo. I have been told that this is during the Puerto Rican spring break and that the ferries will be incredibly crowded-- that I wil have to be in line at 6 am for ferry tickets. Also, I was told that you cannot reserve tickets in advance. I was just wondering if this is true? How early do I realistically have to be at the ferry? Thanks.
