Squid is a must, a 15 to 20 pound line will do, with a 2 or 3 ounce sinker.
I used to fish there a lot, even parrot fish is not likely to bite on a hook, they might. I catch very few, and always tried to get them back on the water. Despite what anyone may tell... this is not a good fish to eat.
NOt that it is poisoned, but this fish is full of crap.

Another fish that might bite, is the pig fish, throw that one back too.
It gives a good fight, but it is a beautiful fish.
I caught one some time ago with a friend, he did not wanted to throw it back, I almost cried looking at that wonderful animal trying to live.
My friend kept it, you cannot scale this fish, you have to take out the skin, only to be left with a little flesh, very little. PLease throw them in the water again.

Most of the fishing there includes groupers, yellow tails, and stripes fish ( i do not know the correct name in english ), but if you catch one you'll know.
Groupers are the best.
