Re: Ferry weather -- and waves
Culebra, Puerto Rico

We just got back from Culebra and we got sick on the ferry too. Here's some additional advice we received while in Culebra:

Medicine: Stock up on Dramamine. Not only for the ferry rides but for any ventures up the narrow, winding roads to the mountains in Puerto Rico. Also they make drops that you put behind your ears that supposed to work wonders. Perhaps without the drowsiness? Maybe someone else will have info on these.

Don't drink fluids: Fluids will slosh around in your stomach and may make you feel sicker. We were told by a man who used to work on a cruiseship that eating soda crackers prior to the trip helps absorb the fluid in your stomach. He also said drinking tea is the only exception to the no fluids rule.

Stay in the breeze.
Focus on the horizon.
Keep busy, get your mind off it!

There were some gusty, five minute downpours while there - we enjoyed watching the storm clouds roll in from Flamenco Beach. Gave a little break in the heat too!
