I am the person who first posed the innocent question about the weekend ferry schedule that resulted in this long thread of responses.
I have never been to Culebra, and have found the info on this site and in this forum to be particularly helpful. I am grateful to Michael for hosting it, and to everyone who takes the time to answer questions.
We (my husband, son and I) are the kind of tourists who are just looking for a quiet getaway where we can enjoy nature, go snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, and just hanging out. I have not been the least bit deterred by the varying opinions about places to stay, eat, etc. I realize they are just personal opinions, and that one person's trash is another's treasure.
But I must say I am a bit dismayed by the vitriolic nature of the discussion that is going on in this thread. I hope that potential tourists don't bother reading it all, since I fear some may be turned off by the nastiness of some of the postings.
For the sake of all -- Culebrenses (however defined), tourists, and potential tourists, I suggest that everyone refrain from continuing this conversation, and try to avoid similar exchanges in the future.
I began this thread, and would be happy to be the one to end it.
Looking forward to my visit to the island -- we arrive on this coming Sunday (12/18) and I can't wait!
Karen
