My recent trip to Culebra

Just wanted to tell about my recent trip to Culebra with my mom and two friends. We went on May 26, Memorial Day and the ferry was sold out an hour and a half before it was supposed to leave. We ended up taking an 8 passenger plane for $25. The flight was only 10 minutes, but it was completely worth it...it offered a beautiful view of the whole island as well as some roller coaster thrills as well as a cute guy I kept bumping knees with in the next seat :) We stayed at Posada Hamaca, which was a 15 minute walk from the airport. The room was clean and cool, but we didn't really have any water after 8pm. The owner was very friendly and helpful for our stay. We ate lunch at Mamacita's (grilled dorado fish sandwich with guava sauce...amazing!) and had dinner at the Dingy Dock (I had to give the cook a thumbs up when he came out and saw the rib bones I had picked clean!). We spent the day at Flamenco beach which was probably one of the most beautiful, clean beaches I have ever seen. It was easy to get to...just a two dollar taxi ride from town. We also had breakfast at the Dingy Dock. Trying to catch the ferry back was a little hectic because they didn't start selling tickets until 11, and there were about 30 or hot and angry people who had been waiting in the sun since 10am to get tickets. But I just followed the easygoing mood of Culebra and put up my umbrella and watched the folks feed the fish at the pier. The trip was very relaxing and it was convenient to get around. I'd love to go again.
