Best snorkeling in spite of high seas

Hi all,
My friend and I are here and attempted snorkeling this morning at Tamarindo and Carlos Resario but the swell is too high at Carlos and visibility too low at Tamarindo. We are camping at Flamenco and do not have a car but are up for takin a taxi somewhere further (even a water taxi or renting kayaks) trek in order to find calmer clearer water. Any suggestions for best places to snorkel even when the seas are high and wrapping around enough to even effect the non-north shore beaches?!
