I think my wife and I may opt for a golf cart next time around... speed isn't an issue, the carts aren't any less secure than the things or the cheap jeeps, and they can all go to the same places. I guess it might be questionable as to whether you could get a golf car to Tamarindo though...? As far as rain... we got wet in our jeep, and you're usually heading to or from the beach so a lil rain doesn't hurt! :)
