Ferrying a kayak from Vieques to Culebra?

I have a 9' kayak in Vieques that I need to bring over here to Culebra and I don't have a car. Can I take it on the passenger ferry or do I need to take it on the cargo ferry? This is a new adventure for me as I've only been on the passenger ferry from Vieques to Fajardo and back. Any ideas or experiences out there to clue me in? Looking forward to the reunion with my Jazz.
