The futon is a regular futon, so I don't know how comfortable it would be for someone that tall. Then again, he is 20 years old, so they can kind of sleep anywhere at that age, right?
There are room darkening curtains in the living room, so sunlight won't be an issue in the morning. That is where the kitchen is though, so if you and your husband are getting your morning fixings and he is a light sleeper, it could wake him up.
