I'm not sure when is the best day, but I do know that from the dock to flamenco beach sure isn't a walking distance. is like a 2 mile walk with the sun punishing you all the way. there are buses that take you from the dock to the beach for about $4p/p. but they only work daytime. Also you should check out Vaca Brava, Raices and La vecindad del chavo. Those 3 are local restaurants. Look them up in google.
