Sandy - although we usually go straight to Culebra, last September we did an island tour ending in Culebra. We spent one night in San Juan, one night in Rincon, one night in Ponce, one night in Ceiba (at the inn I recommended). We saw the fort, we went to the Arecibo Observatory, we went to the Camuy caves, Cabo Rojo, Guanica, etc. What you are proposing is much less travel/transit time than what we did, and we had a blast! Depends on what you want to do - be a tourist, travel around and see things you've never seen before or just hang out on a beach? In my opinion, PR offers the best of both worlds.
