What's camping at Flamenco Beach like in July? Too hot? Buggy? Or a good idea? Are there places to store valuables like passports, etc?

Temperatures vary not much year around. There are some bugs especially at dusk (do a search for more info). You can buy bug spray in town. There is no place to store valuables.

There's lots of valuable camping info in past threads. It's worth the effort to search through them. You'll learn a lot! It's a wonderful place to camp, in my opinion. Rustic but beautiful.

July can be hot, but also is Puerto Rican tourist season. Don't want to discourage you, as camping at Flamenco is great, but it will be busy then.

The average high temperature for July is the same as May, June, August, September, and October (approx 87 to 88 degrees), and is only a few degrees higher than January and February (approx 83).

Nancy is right about the crowds. Like any vacation destination within easy travel of a mainland, it's much more crowded when schools are out.

But then again, the definition of "crowded" on Culebra is not quite like "crowded" at Disneyworld, for example.
