Thank you for your input on this guys.
I'm not going to risk bringing it with me nor will I ask any Joe Schmoe on the street where I can pick some up. I will bug my contact on the island and see what he can do. If not, it's not the end of the world.
Jeannie - The true crime here is that marijuana isn't already legalized. Our prisons are overcrowded with minor drug offenses and our country is in a recession. Why not legalize something that you could literally make billions of dollars a year on if you taxed it? There is a certain stigma associated with pot that is so archaic and old school it's almost laughable. Believe me the last thing I would want would be to become butt buddies with Bubba in a jail cell in San Juan...but the fact that I could potentially encounter that situation, and people have, for bringing a bag of weed with them on vacation is absurd. I respect that you have family members that risk their lives to protect people from the bad guys (I do too) but the guy with a few joints in his bag isn't the bad guy...it's the guy trafficking women, coke, heroin, etc that is the true problem. It seems hard to believe that we would lump the two of them in the same category.
Anyway, thatnks for the advice guys and gals. This is my 3rd year in a row escaping the Northeast and finding peace and quiet on your tiny island. I love it in Culebra and will do my best to keep it a secret.
PS - I plan on drinking a ton of Medalla and Bacardi...so don't worry about that.
