Owlihoot is there right now. She is**and staying there alone for a couple weeks, which she does each year. She would be answering your question if she were online right now, and assuring you it's safe.

A few weeks ago, I met a woman in her 60's who had been there for 30 days. She was a tough old bird, though, with the language of a sailor (or worse). She told me that "No one better f*** with me, or they'll get a hammer first in the foot and then in the face". So, I think you have to worry more about her than about any men! LOL.

Even in the LEAST crowded times in Flamenco, there are always a lot of people around. It's incredibly safe.

No see'ums really are a concern for some people. I was one.

They are a problem at dusk mainly. Bring long pants, Off and a citronella candle. They have the latter two at the grocery stores.
