Covering any city with free wifi will enhance the public life. A variety of people is crucial for a viable street scene. If I can sit outside on the plaza, sip my coffe and check my email, I don't have to do it at home and will spend more time there. It's not like all of a sudden only laptop crazed yuppies are going to use the plaza. It's just an invitation ;)
