1. There are several parking lots just before you take the left to the ferry dock. All reports indicate they are safe places to leave your car.
2. Predicting odds when Culebra is involved is a risky venture. Somewhere between 1% and 99%. I am not trying to be a wise-guy or funny here ... you just never know. To me, that's part of the beauty of the Culebra experience. For others it might be considered a curse. I was "on-island" last week and saw the passenger ferry stop running, stranding quite a few people. Those able to "go with the flow" considered it an adventure ... others kind of freaked out and were miserable. One thing is for sure: The earlier you arrive, the better chance you have. The ticket windows are across the street from the ferry dock.
3. Transportation is easy. When the ferry lands there are numerous van-taxi-bus type vehicles. Me thinks it is $3 per person one way. And when it's time to return, those same vehicles are waiting in the Flamenco parking lot to bring you back!
One last thing: the food at the beach is actually pretty good ... light years ahead of 8-10 years ago. For 5 bucks you can eat pretty well.
Have fun ... good luck ... and know many folks are jealous you will be there when we are not!
36 days and counting!
(See I just got back 3 days ago but can't wait to go again!)
