March in Culebra
Culebra, Puerto Rico

For several weeks, my husband and I have been planning a March vacation in Culebra. Now we are hearing from various sources that March is one of the worst months to go to this particular island because of Spring break and the resulting dearth of lodging. We also hear it's the hottest, driest month to be there. We've been following this forum, and it seems like the ideal place to inquire. Should we bag our plans and try for a better time of year?

Good afternoon,
Culebra certainly is not a "spring break" destination-it lacks nightlife. It is, however, one of the busiest months-think all the people who are enduring winter weather wanting to escape. As such, you would be wise to book March lodging NOW.

It definately is NOT the hottest month (Sept/Oct), nor, would I think the driest (30% chance of rain daily-year round).

Not sure where the info. came from, but I'd disagree.
March is still "wintery" here with normally nice breezes & a bit (like 76-80) cooler in the evenings.

When we come to Culebra is is always in March..we love it because there is little rain and we can enjoy the outdoors everyday...did go once during Easter Week a bit crowded but really not that bad.....We love it...

There is no such thing as a bad vacation. Some are just better than others.
